Laser Printer Vs Inkjet Cost Per Page-Which is Cost Effective
There is mainly two type of printers available in the market. One is the inkjet printer, and the other one is the laser printer. Both are good to print usual documents. Inkjet printers use the traditional style of printing. That is here you need to use ink to print on the paper. But the laser printers are different from them. They use the modern toner technology to print on paper. The toner contains carbon and iron oxide mix powder. When the user gives the command, the printer sprays the powder on the paper according to the file. Here I am going to discuss the laser printer vs inkjet cost per page. Read the article to get a clear concept about it.
The initial cost of laser printer and the inkjet printer is almost same. You can grab an inkjet printer or a laser printer with the same price. But the difference you will see in the laser printer vs inkjet cost per page. For a small number of tasks, both take almost the same amount of money. But when it is about a large number of works, the rate per page changes.
As we know, inkjet printers use the ink for printing, so they are cost effective. I mean the ink is cheap in price. You can easily change this. But this is not cost effective at all of you are going to use the printer for commercial purposes. Inkjet printers have small capacity of printing. They also take a large time to print if you needed to print so many papers. There is also a good side of inkjet printers; you can print both color and black and white stuff with it. If you print color and black and white, each page will cost almost 20 cents. However, printing only in black and white will cost you 7-8 cents per page.
On the other hand, most of the laser printers come only for black and white printing or monochrome. Though there is the color print option too. The color laser printers have a high price. Laser printers take less time to print. You can use them in office without any hassle. They can print a large amount of paper within a short period. The average cost of laser printer per page is 6 cents. It drops when you print a large number of papers. So, when it is about laser printer vs inkjet cost per page, a laser printer is more cost effective.
Great! it given me so much help. I also have a Laser printer for my business purposes and i could say its better than any printer. I also prefer using this kind of printer not just its cost effective but the maintenance of its parts or the machine has a long time span.
I want to buy a printer for my small business. I provide photocopy facility that is black and white only but this time i will take this suggestion and i think right printer will be the best and cheap cost.
I print a lot of photo’s specially when there’s an Occasion Laser printer is one way to to produce quality results that inkjet one but in terms of lifespan you need a little higher printing costs. its ok for me even if its a little expensive than toner and comes with cartridges with lower capacities.
For my office we prefer to use a monochrome laser printer for its fast printing low cost per print which is really perfect for my start up business.
Regarding print quality, Inkjets, with their dye- and pigment-based inks, do especially well at handling color, particularly for images and photos, which are more likely to involve subtle shades of color. The nature of liquid ink means that those mixtures are easier to reproduce on an inkjet rather than on a laser printer.
Deciding on inkjet vs. laser printing comes down to what you want to print and how much of it. Small, image-heavy workloads, like family photos and school projects, are better suited to lightweight and low-cost inkjet printing. But if you handle heavy volumes of text-based documents in your home office, a laser printer is a more economical choice for the long run.
That depends on what you will be printing. If you are primarily printing documents, a laser printer is your best option. Laser printers print at a higher resolution than inkjet printers (some as high as 1200dpi). Text is sharp and easy to read. If you will be printing photos, inkjet is a better option. Inkjet printers can use anywhere from four to eight different ink colors to print photos depending on the printer (black/photo black, cyan, magenta, yellow, gray, light cyan, light magenta, and light yellow). This wider selection of colors allows inkjet printers to print a much wider color gamut than can a color laser printer, which only has four toner cartridges (black, cyan, magenta, and yellow).
this is pretty helpful. I never know the real differences between laser and inkjet
I’ve found that laser printers are better for printing documents, while inkjets excel at printing photos better.. If you want to keep the cost per page as low as possible, laser printers are cheaper than inkjet!
Privately I use an inkjet printer. On my work we have a laser printer.
At home I attach great importance to having a beautiful, clean and above all colourful print. Here the inkjet printer is unbeatable in my opinion.
At work, an inkjet printer is not so good. When marking the text, the ink can be blurred and it looks unclean. Does not make a good image.
An inkjet printer typically rakes around 20 cents/page for both color and black & white prints. For black and white pages, the cost drops to around 7 or 8 cents/page. What’s more, laser printers have extra maintenance costs if pit against inkjet printers. You will require regular replacement of components like fuser cartridge.
If you need a printer that will speed through print jobs, go with a laser printer. Laser printers have surged in popularity and have a reputation for speed. This holds true for even basic black-and-white laser models; it’s not unusual to see print speeds of 20 or more pages per minute.
said the upfront cost of a laser printer is usually more than an average inkjet printer. but i take more consideration to inkjet because its lighter or smaller and has a good vibrant color printing of image heavy documents.
My earlier orientation was that ink jet is more cost effective, and most of my printing projects were colored. Well, I’ll try a LaserJet and compare the cost

I’m using an inkjet printer since then because I print images more than the reports. For me, an inkjet printer has better output than a laser printer when it comes to printing images.

Yeah, it’s true, the first thing we have to consider when buying a printer is the cost per page. We must also consider the nature of work we had (home business or corporate).
Well, I preferred inkjet printer since I don’t have a commercial business and I seldom used it. It’s cost-effective in my circumstance.
I think I’m going to buy this modern type of printer but I’m not saying that I will not use the traditional one. I just want to figure it out which is better and both of it is useful because I have my grandchildren and my Sons are a businessman.
I’ll go with the latest which is a laser printer though it’s more expensive to buy. In the long run, I’ve been earning more than times two compared to my last year’s income because I finally get things done faster than before with the help of this printer which is less hassle.
